A 2-minute introduction template (~300 words)

Structure: current role and years of relevant experience → your flagship project, described as an outcome and an architecture, not just a tech-stack list → your differentiator (the specific hard problem you solved that most candidates haven't) → a quantified impact statement → a close that bridges to why you're a fit for this role specifically.

Illustrative example (fictional narrator, for structure only — do not recite this as your own story):

"I'm an AI engineer with several years focused on production generative AI. Most recently I led the architecture for an enterprise knowledge assistant using a Corrective RAG pattern — the system grades its own retrieved context before answering, which cut its hallucination rate meaningfully compared to a naive retrieval pipeline. Just as importantly, it shipped with the controls that make AI deployable in a regulated enterprise: guardrails against prompt injection, least-privilege tool access, and human-in-the-loop gates for any irreversible action. That combination — grounded quality and enterprise-grade controls — is exactly the intersection this role sits at, and it's what I want to keep building."

Common misses (write your own version of your intro against this list)

• Leading with a tech-stack list instead of an outcome — nobody remembers "I used LangGraph and pgvector," they remember what it achieved.
• No quantified impact anywhere in the pitch.
• No explicit bridge from your story to this role — a strong pitch that could apply to any interview is a wasted opportunity.
• Going long: a 2-minute answer that runs 4 minutes reads as an inability to prioritize, a core architect skill.
